Checkout Library & Online Training

The traditional classroom experience is not the only way to learn about computers. Self-help alternatives to courses may be more effective and convenient. ITC Training Services maintains a library of self-help training materials on VHS tape, CD and DVD. Computer training is also available via streamed online videos and howtovideos that can be downloaded.

Checkout Policy

Materials will be loaned for a one-week period after which they may be renewed provided there is not a waiting list. Because of high demand, individuals may borrow only one set of materials at a time.

Checkout Procedure

To arrange to borrow the self-paced training materials below, contact ITC Training Services at (434) 982-2991 or send e-mail to itc-trainingservices@virginia.edu. Please contact us before you visit to insure the materials are available for loan. Many videos and training materials do have waiting lists. Materials can be picked up in person from the ITC Quality Control Center at Carruthers Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Late Fee

There will be a late fee charged to an individual's department for overdue/damaged materials checked-out from the Checkout Library. Materials not returned by the specified due date will be subject to a five dollar ($5.00) per day penalty up to the cost of the item. ITC Training Services also reserves the right to bill an individual directly for overdue or damaged materials. These charges apply to all materials (VHS tapes, CDs, DVDs) available for checkout from the Checkout Library.
