Installing  SAS 9.1.3 EAS on Windows

The SAS Education Analytical Suite (EAS) is the new method of licensing SAS at UVA.  The SAS System consists of over 20 diverse products. SAS products available at University of Virginia under the EAS program are:

Installation Instructions for SAS 9.1.3 EAS

The instructions for installing SAS will vary according to the installation media, whether or not SAS is already installed on your PC, and if so, according to what version is installed on it.

 

Fresh SAS 9.1.3 EAS: CD Installation

If you are installing SAS on a Windows PC on which no other version of SAS is already installed, then you should follow the instructions for a New Installation here:

Fresh SAS 9.1.3 EAS: DVD Installation

If you are installing SAS on a Windows PC on which no other version of SAS is already installed, then you should follow the instructions for a New Installation here:

Upgrading Your Existing SAS 8.x Installation

If you have SAS 8.x installed on your PC, then you may choose to either

1.  Remove SAS 8.x then install SAS 9.1.3, or

2.  You may install SAS 9.1.3 on the same system as 8.x.

Upgrading your SAS 9.1 Installation

There can be only one SAS 9.1 release (SAS 9.1, SAS 9.1.2 or SAS 9.1.3 (not EAS) installed on a single PC.  If an installation of an earlier version of SAS 9.1 is already on your machine, then you should first uninstall the existing version using the Windows Control panel, remove the SAS folder(s) from the Program Files folder on your hard drive. Reboot your machine and follow the instructions for SAS 9.1.3 EAS.
