Availability UPDATE for LISREL/PRELIS
August 7, 2006: LISREL is now available for purchase for the MAC OS 9 and X. We have tested this product in the PPC 10.3 version of the MAC OS successfully. This application is not available for the Intel Mac. Information concerning the Mac system requirements , installation instructions , and differences between the Windows and MacIntosh prodcuts is available. Users wanting a copy of LISREL for their home or office Mac can now purchase a LISREL license as part of ITC's license (at a current cost $120 per license). Users interested in purchasing a LISREL 8.72 for the Mac or Windows should e-mail Res-Consult@Virginia.EDU .

---

Beginning on Monday, July 11, 2005, the LISREL and PRELIS programs will no longer be available on node1.unix and node2.unix of blue.unix. In order to run LISREL or PRELIS you will need to go to one of the ITC Public Labs and access it on one of the Win dows PCs.

ITC has traditionally provided access to LISREL via its RS6000 cluster, blue.unix., as well as the Windows version in the ITC Public Labs. The use of LISREL/Prelis on blue.unix has declined to the point in the last 15 months that it is not worth contin uing to license it on blue.unix.

This change should enhance one's use of LISREL, as the Window's version of LISREL provides superior graphical capabilities and is the most recent version of the product. Currently LISREL, PRELIS for Windows in the ITC Public labs is version 8.72.

Users wanting a copy of LISREL for their computer (home or office) can purchase a LISREL license as part of ITC's license (at a current cost $120 per license). Users interested in purchasing a LISREL 8.72 for Windows should e-mail Res-Consult@Virginia.EDU .

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter please contact the ITC Research Computing Support Center via e-mail to Res-Consult@Virginia.EDU, or telephone to 243-8800.

Availability for WindowsUPDATE for LISREL/PRELIS

Version 8.72 of LISREL, PRELIS, and MULTILEV for Windows is available in the ITC public labs.

LISREL, version 8.72 and PRELIS are available (for up to 4 concurrent users) in ITC maintained public labs. If usage for the LISREL and PRELIS products does not meet our criteria for continued purchase, ITC may elect to discontinue the licensing of the unix and/or Windows versions. (Users of the unix version of LISREL and PRELIS may wish to investigate use of the newly installed Mx utility.)

Members of the University of Virginia community who wish to install LISREL/PRELIS on their own Windows or MacIntosh machine may purchase their own copy and license at a cost of approximately $120 (plus $30 for the media, and additional amount for shipping and handling). This is a significant savings over the $575 single user cost for the LISREL/PRELIS product. This savings reduction is available to the U.Va. community because ITC has purchased the "base" LISREL/PRELIS Windows license. Individually owned copy of LISREL/PRELIS can be installed on a U.Va-owned or personal computer, but it may only be used for U.Va. related work while here at the University.

Faculty, staff, and students at the University of Virginia interested in getting their own personal copy of LISREL should e-mail us Res-Consult@Virginia.EDU We will order LISREL/PRELIS from Scientific Software International (SSI). We can only order the version of LISREL that we currently have licensed at U.Va., which is version 8.72 When you send electronic mail to us, be sure to include your PTAO (fund code), the name and phone number of the fiscal administrator of this fund code, your department, the location of the computer on which LISREL will be installed and whether it is U.Va. or personally owned and your contact information. Printed manuals can be purchased separately from SSI, if preferred. For details, see: http://www.ssicentral.com/otherproducts/books.html
