teTeX 1.0 Becomes Default Version

The scientific word processing software teTeX 2.0 (which includes LaTeX2e and TeX) replaced teTeX 1.0 as the default version available on the Unix platforms (AIX, Solaris, and IRIX) that ITC maintains on April 22, 2004. The newer teTeX distribution can be accessed with the following commands:

The older version of teTeX can still be accessed using the commands above with a .old extension. Further information on teTeX 1.0 can be found on the Research Computing Services Web page at,
