LabVIEW Availability

LabView 8.5 is available for distribution to all UVa faculty, staff, and graduate students. Undergraduates who want to install LabView on their person computers must purchase the Student Edition. The University has a license for an unlimited number of teaching and research installations for the LabVIEW Professional Development System as well as all the add-on toolsets. LabVIEW 8.5 is available in ITC's Public Labs under Start/S.E.A.S./National Instruments/LabView 8.2/LabView. LabView Academic Site License

The LabVIEW 8.5 Professional Development System for the Windows (NT/2000/XP/Vista), Mac OSX, Linux, and the Sun Solaris platforms is available on DVD from the Research Computing Lab in the Science and Engineering Library (Clark Hall) of the Scholar's Lab in Aldermann Library. Add-on components to LabView are available upon request.

The serial number required for LabVIEW installation can be obtained from the ITC Software Licensing Webpage. LabVIEW 8.5 requires an additional activation over the internet from National Instruments (NI). Further information on NI product activation can be found on the Webpage http://ni.com/activate/. Many LabView products, such as Diadem, require a separate license and activation.
