Who We Are
The group's manager is Sandy German. Staff are located in Carruthers Hall and are Lauren McSwain-Starrett, Janet Sakell, and ITCWebmaster Scott Crittenden.
What We Do
The ITC Customer Communications group supports ITC's customers by providing outreach to the University community, by developing printed and electronic documentation and communications about ITC's products and services, and by providing overall management of ITC's comprehensive website, ITCWeb.
- For all members of the UVa community:
- Maintenance of ITCWeb, ITC's comprehensive informational website
- Drafting of ITC public announcements and downtimes
- Crafting press releases and ITC outreach strategy
- ITC Events Calendar of free and upcoming computer-related seminars, forums, brown bags and presentations
- A library of UVa images available for non-commercial, not-for-profit presentations, websites, and publications
- Concept creation and production of technology-related award-winning videos
- Responsible computing video, "When I Go To UVa..."
- Social networking sites video, "What Happens on the Web, Stays on the Web"
- Design and creation of handouts for new and transfer students at the beginning of each semester
- Coordination of ITC's involvement in Back-to-School activities—Summer Orientation and Move-In Saturday
- Maintenance of the Responsible Computing Handbook for Students
- For faculty and staff:
- Maintenance of the Responsible Computing Handbooks for Faculty and Staff
- Publications for and outreach at ITC's booth at the Welcome Fair for new UVa employees
- Creation and production of ITC's internal blog Inside ITC (and its previous incarnation, the monthly newsletter "Spam on Wry")
