Agenda for NBIS Committee Meeting

December 17, 1998

We're on for 9:30 - 11 a.m. tomorrow (Thurs) in Peabody 110. Here's the
agenda -- some of it the items we didn't get to last month.

1. Search capability. Progress reports on the 4 things we agreed to do
as interim improvements.

	-- Alphabetical navigation site

-- Directory/People button, search request page

	-- Harvest code

-- Set up links to commercial search(es) on search request page

2. Mass e-mail policy in practice. Learnings from recent examples
(police notices, Peach Bowl marketing, other?)

3. Web networking. What issues is Anne Lind's web group working on?
Do we want to do anything in addition to pull the web administrators
together?

4. How to measure a website's effectiveness

What would we want to know? Do we have tools to answer those
questions, or do they need to be designed? What kinds of data can help
this committee understand usage of our site, know what improvements to
make, perform our mission as the oversight group?

5. Highlights of UCIT meeting, esp. Faculty Senate initiative on IT

6. Other things on your mind
