Agenda for the April 18, 1996 Meeting

----------------------------------------

POLICY-RELATED ITEMS

1. First-Year Council mass mailing list. Do you agree that this is in the
spirit of the policy we developed, if system resources permit? What are
the precedent-setting implications, if any, for other mega groups?

2. Defining "commercial" use of the network--again. See Chip's message
sent previously.

3. FYI (discussion probably not needed). The revised mission statement
for GWIS is now posted in 3 or 4 places: "About GWIS/gopher main menu,
ITC policies, N-BIS committee, and under the Help button on the home page.

CONTENT/ORGANIZATIONAL ITEMS

1. The web style guide from Indiana. Any further comments, suggestions
for modification, etc.?

2. Revising the home page
        a. Further thoughts on Academic/Administration/Student sections
        b. Process: how shall we tackle other sections that have become
overgrown, e.g., the one listing tons of centers

3. Ideas for future agendas, summer projects, etc.

I'm trying to get in touch with Jim Jokl for information in answer to Tim's
(?) question about the contract for modem access, what this may mean for
issues in our baliwick, etc. Louise
