NBIS Agenda: Meeting on 2/15/01

We'll meet tomorrow (2/15) at 1:30 p.m. in the Commonwealth Room in
Newcomb Hall, because it has the ethnet connections that Martha
Blodgett needs for her presentation. Although some of us have seen
pieces of it already (a new library portal under development + pilot
"information communities"), part of our discussion will be about the
philosophy behind these new uses of the web & issues Martha, Diane
and their team have encountered in planning the library of tomorrow.

Other agenda items include:

1. Servers for video streaming? Is there a capacity problem? Can
N-BIS help (or encourage) ITC solutions?

2. Napster -- where are we in the wake of the recent court decision?

3. Digital Millenium Copyright Act -- implications for U.Va.

4. Richmond update (maybe)

5. Webmaster update
