Information Technology in Instruction

Mission of the Committee:

Review the Ribando Committee's Classroom Technology Plan and current plans for the Classroom Technology Initiative. Provide leadership to extend and enhance these initiatives. Serve as a leadership focus for the implementation of efforts with the Faculty Development Initiative, the Multimedia Resource Center, and the Classroom Enhancement Project. Advise these three initiatives on matters of services, support, and facilities. Help to create excitement and engagement among U.Va. faculty and students. Recommend a set of "standard types" of general technology instructional facilities (lab, hands on classroom, lecture hall, seminar/conference room, etc.) and the baseline functionality that should be provided in all such facilities. Recommend a set of "service levels" for the support that needs to be provided for such facilities. For specialized departmental or school owned instructional facilities recommend an appropriate definition of support to be provided by the department or school and that to be provided centrally.
