Data Stewards

Mission Statement

Serve as the "Committee of Data Stewards" as described in the University of Virginia Administrative Data Access Policy and support the development of a first class information access environment at UVa. Recommend priorities for data to populate the data warehouse. Recommend to the President's Cabinet classes of data that should be designated as "restricted" and not be made generally accessible within UVa. Recommend policies to guide the evolution of aggressive and positive programs to enhance the effective use of institutional data in the management of the institution. Recommend conventions for treatment of common types of information, for example names and address in order to facilitate seamless transfer of information across platforms and applications.
