When conecting to UVa's encrypted wireless network you will need to validate the wireless authentication server's certificate manually if you have not previously done so. The instructions below illustrate the process.

Windows XP
- If you need to validate the wireless authentication server's certificate, the following pop-up balloon will appear:
Click here to process your logon information for the network cavalier. Click anywhere but the
"X".

- A dialog box will appear titled Validate Server Certificate. Click the OK button.

Windows Vista
- If you need to validate the wireless authentication server's certificate, the following pop-up balloon will appear:
Additional information is required to connect to cavalier. Click anywhere but the "X".

- A dialog box will appear titled Validate Server Certificate. Click the OK button.

Mac OS 10.3
- If you need to validate the wireless authentication server's certificate, the following dialog box titled Verify
Certificate will appear. Click the OK button.

Mac OS 10.4
- If you need to validate the wireless authentication server's certificate, the following dialog box titled Verify
Certificate will appear. Click the Show Certificate button.

- The Verify Certificate dialog box will expand. Click the checkbox for Always trust these certificates
and then click the Continue button.

- To complete the process, you may be asked to enter your password for your computer. Click the OK button.
