Joining a Computer to the Eservices Domain

Overview

All the tools needed to join your computer to the Eservices domain are provided at the Eservices Resource Management website. Before attempting to join your computer to the domain please read the following instructions. It may be a good idea to print this page for reference during the process.

The Eservices Resource Management website includes important announcements on the left hand side of the page. Be sure to review these when you visit the site.

Join Eservices Domain

  1. Start by clicking on the "Join Eservices" tab which is the fourth tab from the right near the top of the page. Clicking on this tab will open the page below. At this point you will need to type some personal information to confirm that you are a member of the university community.

  2. Enter your account information into the form and then click Submit Information.

  3. Once authenticated you will be presented with a page asking if you want to join your computer to the Eservices domain. Click the link that says "Click here to proceed".

    If you are a faculty or staff member you will be presented with the page below. It may take fifteen minutes for the new permissions assigned to your personal account to take effect. Currently students may not join the Eservices domain and will be presented with an error message stating they may not join the domain. If you are not a student and you receive an error message, please email us.

  4. At this point you may click the link that says "Click here to download the toolkit". The toolkit is a compressed ZIP file that contains a program and a documentation file. Please read the documentation before running the program. If you have never logged into Eservices before, you must enable your Eservices account before you are able to run the toolkit program successfully.

Enable Personal Account

  1. Click on the "Account Management" tab to enable your personal account. If you have taken more than five minutes to download the toolkit you may need to authenticate once more.

  2. Click the link that says "Enable My Eservices Account" to proceed with setting up your account and password.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the resulting page to view the password form. Once you enter a password for your Eservices account, click on submit information

  4. Once the password is submitted it will be processed to ensure that it will work as a secure password in the domain. If the password is certified as good, click on Accept Password to complete the account process and ensure your account is enabled.

    If there are no problems, you will be presented with a page notifying you that your account has been enabled. The account may take as long as 15 minutes to process. During that time you can read the instructions in the downloadable toolkit. Once your account is enabled, you can then run the toolkit to join the domain, using your new account and password.
