Process Overview and LSP Instructions

  1. Request iKey hardware token. If one of your users has been told that he or she needs to use an iKey for VPN access to a protected server, you can fill out the request form for an iKey hardware token.
  2. Create iKey token. After all the information submitted is verified, the iKey creation team will create the token. You will receive an email back telling you when and where the iKey token is ready to be picked up.
  3. Pick up iKey token.
    • User pickup (Preferred):
      ITC Accounts staff will check their photo ID, help them create an iKey password, and have the user sign the ITC iKey Digital Certificate Form. The LSP will then assist with iKey software installation.
    • LSP Pickup:
      If you (the LSP) come to pick up the iKey, you must sign a form indicating chain of custody of the device. You will assume responsibility for: installing the ikey software, testing the iKey, checking the user's photo ID, and requiring the user to change their password before the user signs the iKey form. (Note: The LSP has to help the user change the password AT THE SAME TIME the user signs the iKey form since the LSP is responsible for making sure the user has changed the password.)
  4. Return signed receipt to ITC. The User or LSP will need to return the signed iKey Digital Certificate Form acknowledging that the iKey was received and the password has been changed. After the signed form has been returned to ITC, and the iKey's initial password has been changed, ITC Networks will activate access to the requested and approved services.
  5. Notify that access is activated. The end user is notified via email that access has been activated.

Note that access must be requested and approved by each system steward or owner. The iKey Request Form now includes contacts and information regarding how to request access to specific resources.
