Home Directory Service

Configuring Network Settings on a Windows XP Computer

You can access the Home Directory Service via direct Ethernet, other high-speed Internet, or a modem/dialup connection. Properly configuring your connection will enable you to download the Home Directory Login Utility and access the Home Directory Service once it is installed.

For proper configuration:

  • You must be logged in to your Windows XP computer as an Administrator or have administrative-level access before you can install this utility properly. (Windows XP "Home" users are given administrative-level access by default when they set up the first accounts on the system.)
  • You must have a working connection to the University's computing network.
