[Jun 28, 2008 8:06] Email phishing scam targeting WebMail users has been reported. More Information

Fugu is a Secure FTP (SFTP) client for Mac OS X. This document is a brief overview of the login process, intended to give you basic instruction in connecting to a secure FTP server.

For more detailed instruction, and more information about the application itself, please download the appropriate Fugu Installation and Usage Guide found under "Related Links".

SFTP is similar to FTP, but unlike FTP, the entire session is encrypted, meaning no passwords are sent in cleartext form, and is thus much less vulnerable to third-party interception.

Download and install the Fugu application from ITC Software Central.

  1. When you first open Fugu, your local directory will appear.
  2. Enter the address of the Secure FTP server to which you would like to be connected.
  3. Enter your username.
  4. The "Port" and "Directory" are optional and in most cases, can be left blank.
  5. Click "Connect".
  6. You will then be asked to enter the password for your account.
  7. Click "Authenticate" and you will be connected.
