Enabling Technologies Group

The Enabling Technologies Group (ETG), a division of Applications and Data Services, supports the University of Virginia's academic and administrative processes by assisting in the implementation of institution-wide Internet/World Wide Web applications within a UNIX environment. ETG provides integration with the institution's environment and data.

Utilizing programming and scripting languages (Java, JSP, Perl), databases (Oracle, MySQL) and enterprise architectures (J2EE, XML), ETG will design and develop Interactive and E-Commerce applications.

New Projects

Enabling Technologies Group services are 'For Fee' and university departments are billed at an hourly rate. Enabling Technologies Group does, however, participate in 'pro bono' services, such as the development of Teaching & Learning Applications, as prioritized by the Academic Computing Advisory Council (ACAC).

Enabling Technologies Group welcomes opportunities to discuss projects and is willing to partner in ventures involving new technologies. Please address your inquiries to Deborah Mills, ETG Manager.
