To improve mail delivery for people who currently ONLY use a Unix system to read and send mail, ITC suggests migrating to the Central Mail Service (CMS). We recommend using the Mulberry program (PC /Mac) for reading and sending mail through the CMS. See the document "Migrating from the Unix Mail System to the Central Mail Service" for more details.
First step: In order to use the CMS, you must have an account. Go to the ITC accounts site to request an account.
Second step: Configure your mailer to use the CMS. This document contains instructions for those who use Eudora or Netscape to access their mail once they have switched from a Unix system to the CMS.
PC version: Tools, then Options
Mac Version: Special, then Settings

ITC does not recommend using Netscape to read electronic mail; there are better and more secure programs for reading mail, such as Mulberry, Eudora or one of the Unix mail programs. However, if you use Netscape to read electronic mail, you will have to change your Netscape configuration if you choose to migrate to the Central Mail Service.
Note: These instructions are intended to be used by those currently using Netscape 7.x to read their electronic mail messages. The instructions do not provide full Netscape configuration information.
j.mail.virginia.eduNOTE: If you have "Leave on server" selected under "After delivery:", then periodically you will have to login directly onto the Central Mail server and manually delete email which will accumulate there. If you have "Remove from server" selected, then your email will be deleted from the Central Mail server each time Netscape copies new messages to your local computer.
