The Virtual Private Network (VPN) client and server are used to require more secure passwords when accessing Oracle Integrated System services.
Installation instructions are at http://www.itc.virginia.edu/desktop/integratedsystem/vpn/install.html
Use instructions are at http://www.itc.virginia.edu/desktop/integratedsystem/vpn/usage.html
The VPN account creation process requires that in addition to an Oracle account you have an account on either the Central Mail Service, Blue.unix.virginia.edu or the Health Sciences Exchange System password. If you have none of these, ITC recommends you create a Central Mail Service account. If you have problems with the account creation process contact the ITC Computing Help Desk at 924-3731. If you create a Central Mail Service account and do not intend to use it regularly you should change the configuration to forward mail to your primary mail account.
