[Nov 21, 2008 9:49] Login issues with the Central Mail Service have now been resolved.
- Start Mulberry.
- In Mulberry, choose Preferences…,
- …on Macintosh: from the Mulberry menu.
- …on Windows: from the File menu.
- Select the Advanced radio button.
- Click the Accounts tab.
- Select SMTP from the Account drop down box.
- In the Server field,…
- …for a CMS account, type: cms.mail.virginia.edu
- …for a unix.mail account, type: smtp.mail.virginia.edu
- Click the Authenticate tab.
- From the Method drop down box, select Plain Text.
- Type your computing ID (e.g., mst3k) in the User field.
- Leave the boxes to save User ID and Save Password unchecked.
- Select STARTTLS-TLSv1 from the Secure: drop down box.
- Click OK to save your changes.
If Port 25 Is Blocked
Port 25 is used by default to send email messages. However, to prevent spam from being routed through their email servers, your ISP may not allow the use of port 25. In this case, follow the steps below to change your sending email port designation:
- Start Mulberry.
- In Mulberry, choose Preferences…
