Electronic Mail Mailing Lists

Mailman upgrade to version 2.1.6 on Sunday, November 6, 2005

If you have messages that you send to or exchange with a group of people on a routine basis, you may want to use a mailing list to facilitate this process. A mailing list is a single address that is associated with a file of other addresses. Messages sent to the mailing list address will be distributed to all addresses contained in the list.

Mailman is the list manager available through Information Technology and Communication (ITC) at the University of Virginia (U.Va.). Mailman offers a web interface and many features.

At the University of Virginia, we offer mailing lists to members of this community to:

  • support research, academic or professional efforts of members of this community,
  • facilitate the administrative work of the community, or
  • support the work of student CIO organizations.
