Cavalier Computers HP DeskJet 3820 Installation Guide

NOTE: Do not connect the USB or parallel printer cable until instructed to do so.

Before Installing | Installing Software | Uninstalling Software

This document provides basic instructions for installing and for uninstalling (removing) the HP Deskjet 3820 printer software. The instructions are for a local installation (direct connection) using a USB or a parallel cable.

The driver on the CD included with the printer is the most current driver available AT THE TIME THE PRINTER IS MANUFACTURED. The CD includes more than just the printer driver. The CD may also include the printer's user's guide, drivers in other languages, and special features or additional software. Periodically, drivers are updated to include newer operating systems or to correct issues. HP recommends using the driver on your CD as long as the printer continues to function properly.

Before installing the software

Close any programs that launch at startup, such as faxing and antivirus software. Failure to disable active antivirus software may result in a corrupt or incomplete installation. Antivirus software usually places an icon next to the time; right-click this icon to bring up a menu that may allow the antivirus software to be shut down or disabled.
