Desktop
Computing Support services include in-depth consulting support for general
desktop computing needs, Web technologies,
network connectivity applications, and operating systems (e.g.,
Windows, MacOS and
Unix)
at the University.
- Support
for the use of basic operating systems (e.g., Windows, MacOS, Unix)
and productivity applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Mulberry
email , Corporate Time scheduler)
that are widely used. Activities include consulting by phone and e-mail,
providing instructions, specialized documentation (including ITCWeb),
and specialized training.
- Support
for networking and connectivity activities (including Home
Directory Service) from the desktop, installers (e.g., Software Central) and other tools. Activities include
researching and testing of networking software clients.
- Support
for electronic mail, including postmaster
services and communications for the computer abuse team.
- Support
for computer security, including timely
computer virus alerts
and antivirus
software updates (through Software Central).
- Support
for users and creators of world-wide web documents
and applications. Activities include providing specialized training
sessions, specialized documentation, and consulting through e-mail.

Integrated System.
