ITC - Applications and Data Services
ADS

Applications and Data Services supports the instruction, research, and administrative functions of the University by providing a set of integrated information systems and easily accessible databases of institutional data to the user community.

Following are some of the specific services currently provided:

  • Consult with user departments regarding their needs for new applications and modifications to existing ones. Develop and execute an implementation plan based upon these needs.
  • Develop custom applications, such as specialized research applications, for faculty and students.
  • Perform project planning, detailed estimating, management, process/data analysis and design, programming, testing, application and operations documentation, and implementation tasks required to satisfy approved requests for application development and maintenance initiatives, including those involving vendor-supplied application packages.
  • Provide system support for production applications seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
  • Research and pilot new tools and techniques specifically supporting application development and data management processes in conjunction with ITC's Advanced Technology division, other ITC divisions, UVA departments and schools and peer institutions.
