BLAST serverat NCBI Do BLAST searches at the databases at NCBI. Psi BLASTis a particularly powerful new search program.
ClustalW A very powerful web-based sequence alignment tool. A faster version is available from the BCM search launcher.
Amos' WWW links page Very comprehensive and current list from the curator of SwissProt and Prosite.
Harvard Biological Laboratories Many programs, databases and resources. Faster than Pedro. Useful list of organism databases organized by organism.
The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) Access to the daily updated Genbank trough ENTREZ, BLAST and other servers.
The National Biotechnology Information Facility "The National Biotechnology Information Facility (NBIF) provides a single-point access to a vast store of widely distributed biotechnology data including approximately 7,000 links to biotechnology resources."
Protein Data Bank (PDB) Search Tool "Molecules R US" interactive search utility for the PDB protein structure database.
ExPaSy Molecular Biology Server A premier European site in Geneva. Particularly good access for SWISSPROT and protein structural analysis.
The Genome Database The name says it all. Part of the Human Genome Project.
The Saccharomyces Genome Database A link to all yeast related topics and the latest in the yeast genome project.
RepeatMasker Screens DNA sequences in fasta format against a library of repetitive elements.
The MolBiol.Net web site A comprehensive list of programs, databases and resources.
The BIOLIST Another comprehensive list, but much more up-to-date than Pedro's list.
IUBio software archive Indiana University's Biology software archive.
Gold™ (Genome OnLine Database) "Genomes Online Database, is a World Wide Web resource for comprehensive access to information regarding complete and ongoing genome projects around the world."
